This page summarises how we work with clients. Every engagement is confirmed in a written letter of engagement, prepared in line with APES 305 Terms of Engagement, which sets out the specific scope, fees and responsibilities for your work. If anything on this page differs from your engagement letter, the engagement letter applies.
Scope of our work
We perform only the services set out in your engagement letter. Work outside that scope is quoted and agreed in writing before we start.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for giving us complete, accurate and timely information, keeping proper records, and reviewing documents we prepare before they are signed or lodged. Final responsibility for the accuracy of returns and statements rests with you.
Fees and payment
We quote fixed fees in writing before we start. All prices exclude GST. Payment terms are set out in your engagement letter. If the scope changes, we tell you before any extra work is done.
Professional standards
We are bound by the APES 110 Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants and the Code of Professional Conduct for registered tax agents. Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation.
Records and confidentiality
We keep your information confidential except where disclosure is required by law or professional obligations. See our privacy policy.
Ending an engagement
Either party may end an engagement by giving written notice. Fees for work completed up to that point remain payable.
Governing law
Our engagements are governed by the laws of New South Wales.
