FBT runs on its own year
The FBT year runs from 1 April to 31 March, not the financial year. Records such as car logbooks and odometer readings need to be in place during the year, so we help you set them up early.
Some benefits are exempt or concessional, and choosing the right valuation method can reduce the tax payable.

Fringe Benefits Tax Return: common questions
Do I need to lodge an FBT return?
Only if you have an FBT liability for the year. If you don’t, we can confirm that and help you notify the ATO where needed.
Does a ute or dual-cab attract FBT?
Not always. Some work vehicles are exempt where private use is limited. We’ll review how the vehicle is used.
What is salary packaging?
An arrangement where an employee gives up some salary in exchange for benefits. It must be set up correctly to work as intended.
